It’s about the visual trails you see in the sky after an airplane. Trails on the ground. Metaphors. This could mean arriving somewhere… This could mean my affection in wandering on lonely forest trails and my affection for music where I seek dimensionality and space. Different parallels which combine into one. Trails.
A1 “AUTO LINN” (Car City)
Actually, this track is connected with Detroit. The track expresses my love for oldschool Detroit techno. Detroit is widely known as an industrial car-city. My hometown Tallinn has lately also turned into a car-city. At times I can’t escape the thought that there’re just too many cars. I don’t like that. It really bothers me. On the other hand it’s inevitable, so in this track I’m trying to find and express the positive side of it. I mean, you don’t always have to express negativity with negative moods. Even if the original emotion is rather disturbing. Some parallels again, between car-cities this time.
A2 “KUSAGIL” (Somewhere)
There’s really nothing to say about this title. The whole track is tightly bound around one bass line. Kind of wandering. Somewhere else.
B1 “LIUGLEJAD” (Sliders)
In summers I can see barn swallows behind my home studio’s window, sliding back and forth. I guess they do that because they look for food there. But if you listen tightly, they create a very specific sound with their communication which was also the inspiration for this track. It also gives me a really good feeling to look at these swift birds flying around, leaving the cars far below. At times like these I feel the nature still exists, and it feels good.
B2 “VEEL LUND” (Some More Snow)
In the beginning there was about 30-second sound phase, which I made on my father’s birthday. This is also one of the very first OTK1’s tracks. The original phrase just wouldn’t evolve for months. Finally, after half a year, I was able to see where the track wanted to go. On the very same evening it was also snowing outside. Quite unexpectedly. That’s where this name comes from. As a strange coincidence it was also snowing on the day we released the single!
B3 “LAGI” (Ceiling)
First of all - it takes me weeks to create a track. This is also some of the very first tracks, so it’s quite hard to figure out where the name came from. Anyway, while finalizing this track I was painting the ceiling of my living-room along with my wife Karita. Some seem to think that this tune is also the „top“ one on this album. But I wouldn’t say that myself.
